Deep Listening Band concert. DLB + E27 = an enhanced auditory environment.

 August 17, 2000 - Lincoln Center, NY, NY

Deep Listening Band performs as the finale to Lunar Opera: Deep Listening For_Tunes (a new work by Pauline Oliveros, commissioned by Lincoln Center) at 7:00 p.m. in the Band Shell at Damrosch Park. DLB also performs two new works by Brenda Hutchinson and Hugh Ragin (also commissioned by Lincoln Center.)

Deep Listening Band, Straylight, and Joe McPhee will perform on the Main Stage. It was a wide open performance!

DLB residency at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Oberlin, Ohio - March 8 - 15, 1999 - with concerts at The Cat in the Cream Cabaret at 6:30 and 8:00 pm on March 14.

DLB and special guest Hugh Ragin for an Internet broadcast from 24 hour a day Here and Now.

Deep Listening Band performed in Pauline Oliveros' The Well and The Gentle . These performances were part of a concert programmed by Pauline for the Carnegie Hall Making Music 1999 series.

September 24-26, 1998 - Low Library Rotunda, Columbia University, New York, NY

To begin the celebration of a Deep Listening Band Decade, Suspended Music regrouped with an installation, concerts and related events. Deep Listening Band will once again join with Ellen Fullman's Long String Instrument designed into the space by Architect Gabriella Gutierrez. Following each of the three concerts, Paul D. Miller will created a special, informal sound environment, reimagining DLB. Receptions following the concerts were hosted by Periplum. Press Release

February 23, 1998 - Winter Garden, World Financial Center, New York, NY

In a prelude to celebrating its tenth anniversary, Deep Listening Band performed three new works composed especially for the spectacular Royal Palm infested Winter Garden and as part of events accompanying the installation of Mechanical Marvels: Invention in the Age of Leonardo. Palm Reading. a reading of the palm trees as scores for performing the musical lifelines contained therein, Palm Sundae, a sweet (no saccharin) and low fat (no palm kernal oil) rendering of the Winter Garden in all of its ersatz tropical glory, and Leonardo's Dream, and exploration of the image of Leonardo as performer. August 8, 9 & 10, 1997 - Unquenchable Fire Tour

Premiere of Joe McPhee's Unquenchable Fire - a Deep Listening Band commission - Saturday, August 9 as part of the Lincoln Center Out of Doors series. DLB was be joined by the Joe McPhee Quartet - Joe McPhee and Joe Giardullo - winds, Monica Wilson - 'cello, Michael Thompson - percussion, and Rachel Pollack reading her text. Also, chamber versions with Joe and Rachel at concerts at the landmark West Kortwright Centre in East Meredith, NY on Friday, August 8 and at Trinity United Methodist Church in Kingston, NY on Sunday, August 10.

February 1, 1997 - Seattle, Washington

Release of Suspended Music CD, from PERIPLUM. Read the Press Release. Release parties were held February 22nd at The Candy Factory, Austin TX (home of the Long String Instrument), March 14th at the Deep Listening Space, Kingston, NY, March 15th at Roulette, New York, NY, and March 29th at the Speakeasy Café, Seattle, WA. Video of the project was shown, Herb Levy talked about the philosophy behind the new Periplum lable, and Deep Listening Band members and Long String Instrument performers who were in attendance talked about the project.

November 18 to 23, 1996 - Bowdoin College, Brunswick, ME

Residency, with DLB joined by Thomas Buckner for a concert on Wednesday, Nov. 20 in the Chapel. Deep Listening Sound Massage Parlour on Friday, the 22nd.

September 2 to 16, 1996 - Mills College, Oakland, CA

Residency, with a Non Stop Flight concert on Monday, Sept. 16. A CD of excerpts from the concert will be released later in 1997.
